Who this covers#
This policy covers saifpasha.com (the "site"), run by Saif Pasha ("I", "me" and "my" below). It explains what the site collects, why, who else handles it and what you can ask for. The site collects as little as it can, and nothing is sold.
What you send me#
The contact form asks for your name, your email, a link if you have one, a message and, if you choose, what you're sending. The form is delivered to my inbox by EmailJS, which passes the message on and doesn't keep it for its own use.
If you email me, the message sits in my inbox with my email provider.
I use what you send only to reply, to scope the work you ask about and, if we work together, to deliver it.
Booking a call#
The booking calendar on the contact page is run by Cal.com. When you book, Cal.com collects the name, email and any notes you enter, and sends me the booking. Cal.com handles that under its own privacy policy.
WhatsApp#
The WhatsApp button opens a chat with me in WhatsApp. The site doesn't pass anything to WhatsApp except the link itself. Anything you write there is handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
Analytics#
The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count which pages people read. It loads only after you choose "Allow" in the banner, and it never loads if you choose "No thanks". Your choice is kept in your browser, and clearing your site data brings the banner back.
When it does load, Google Analytics sets cookies and collects things like the pages you visit, how you arrived, your browser and device, and a rough location based on your IP address. I use it in aggregate to see what helps, never to identify you or to target ads. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy, and you can also opt out with Google's opt-out add-on.
Hosting#
The site is hosted by Vercel, whose servers keep standard logs that may include your IP address, as part of running the site.
Other cookies#
Besides Google Analytics after you allow it, the site stores two small things in your browser, your analytics choice and whether you picked the Paper or the Terminal theme. Neither is sent anywhere.
Who else sees your data#
Only the services named above, each for the job described. I don't sell your data and I don't share it with anyone for their marketing.
How long I keep it#
Messages and form submissions stay in my inbox while we're talking and for a reasonable time after, for my records. If we work together, project records are kept for up to seven years, as normal business records. Google Analytics keeps its data for its default retention period before deleting it.
What you can ask for#
You can ask me for a copy of what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it where I'm not required to keep it, or object to how I use it. Email saif@silverthreadlabs.com and I'll reply within 30 days. I may need to confirm it's you first. Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA may give you further rights, and using them is free.
Security#
The site is served over HTTPS, and only the people who need what you sent to do the work can see it. No system is perfectly secure, and if a breach ever affects your information, I'll tell you promptly.
Children#
The site is for businesses and professionals. I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13, and if you think a child has sent me something, email me and I'll delete it.
Changes to this policy#
When this policy changes in a material way, I update the date at the top of this page.
Questions#
Email saif@silverthreadlabs.com with any question about your data. See also the terms and the contact page.
