A real luxury bag, and its digital twin one scan away
Chia Network
Proof you can hold
Chia was showing luxury brands how a digital twin on its blockchain could prove a product's authenticity and who owns it, and carry its whole history, from the materials it was made of to the day it's resold. Chia's COO was taking that to the luxury houses, and he wanted a wallet to show Chanel, Versace and Dior, one that tied a real luxury item to its digital twin. My part went past the screens. I talked directly with the stakeholders to learn what the luxury world needed from it, and what putting real things on a chain needed more widely.
Chia asked first for screens, then for a clickable prototype. I built them a real app instead, so the demo ran on a real phone in someone's hand rather than inside a design tool, and I named it Luxkey. Chia bought a real luxury bag for the demo, and anyone could hold an iPhone or an Android phone up to it, scan its tag and watch its digital twin appear.
Every round of design after that went straight into the app, and I built a web version alongside it that ran on Chia's blockchain simulator. Luxkey was what Chia put in front of the brands.
