The situation before

The extension was live with 40,000 users when the owner brought it to me.

What I did

I rebuilt it at 40,000 users, and the rebuild happened while the extension stayed live for the people using it. Then it grew past a 100,000 peak.

What changed

The extension went from 40,000 users to a peak of more than 100,000 after the rebuild, and settled around 83,000.
